Planning Your Year In Running

On January 5th, 2019, Doctor Justin Feldman hosted a presentation at Fleet Feet In Poughkeepsie focusing on how to plan your year in running.  He offered specific tips on picking your training plan, and building strength training into your plan to help improve your performance and reduce your risk of injury.  If you couldn’t make it below we have a video of the presentation and an audio version.  You can also find the audio version on our podcast Fitness With Feldman.

 

 

Key Points

  1. Plan The Year Early
  2. Set Your A,B,C races from the start and work with your family to make sure your schedule works
  3. Build in strength training 2 days per week
  4. Focus on:
    1. Goblet Squat
    2. Deadlift
    3. Push-ups
    4. Weighted Carries or Farmer’s Walks
    5. Single Leg Bridges/Bridges in Straight Leg Raise
