Cheers To 10 Amazing Years

Cheers To 10 Amazing Years

Every year I write a little post here about what has changed in the last year.  I enjoy looking back on the previous year and dissecting what new things we have learned, and how those things have changed our practice.  For me this serves two purposes, first, it makes me rethink the year and make sure that we continue to grow and adapt.  Second, it helps hold me and our whole team accountable, we know this post is coming, and so we have to make sure we are always learning and growing.

This year I am taking a different approach because somehow this marks the 10th anniversary of the day we first started treating patients.  So instead of looking back on 1 year and noting all the things that have changed, I’m going to look back on 10 very special years and all things that I am very thankful for.

I need to start with my family. When I decided to do this, Stacey and I had just found out that Hayden was going to be born in September, and I didn’t really know what to expect or what the future would hold.  Without their trust and support, none of what we have been able to do would be possible.

When I had this idea the first person I ran it by was my father, but the second was Bill Austin from Gold’s Gym.  I knew that for this idea to work the way I wanted it to, the best chance for success was to be associated with the Gold’s Gym Family.  From the minute I started talking to Bill I have received nothing but support and encouragement.  Without our Gold’s Gym Family, none of what we have been able to do these last 10 years would have been possible.

Shortly after we hit our 1 year anniversary, Bill approached me with the opportunity to open a second location inside the Gold’s Gym in Fishkill.  I was understandably cautious about expanding so quickly after opening but knew this was an opportunity that I could not miss.  I immediately reached out to John and told him that we had to meet for coffee.  A few days later he was in!  From the minute he came on board he has helped us grow and expand in ways that I would never be able to do on my own.  From growing our Fishkill location to building our relationship with the Kingston Stockade, to helping keep me sane while we were closed during COVID. His support and friendship have helped make Feldman PT what it is today.

When I first opened someone contacted me to come in and shadow because she was looking to go to PT school.  I felt bad because I wasn’t very busy and I wasn’t sure how exciting shadowing me would be.  Meg didn’t care and happily came in anyway.  8ish years later when we were ready to bring on another PT Meg was my first and only call. John and I are both very lucky that she agreed to join our team!

Last, but certainly not least to all of our patients and clients who have trusted us with their care over the last 10 years, we cannot begin to tell you how much we appreciate you all.  Over the years the majority of our growth has come from people telling their family and friends how happy they were with the care they received.  I always tell people that our biggest honor is when people trust us enough to send their family and friends to us.  Without you all we would never be able to accomplish what we have.

I cannot wait to see what the next 10 years will hold!
