Why Not Let Your PT Be Your Coach?

Now Offering Triathlon and Running Coaching Services

At Feldman Physical Therapy and Performance we are always looking for the most updated and advanced ways to help our patients reach their goals, and sometimes we realize that the solution is quite simple and has been staring us in the face the whole time.

As long time runners and triathletes my colleague and I often find ourselves giving our patients training advice, or helping them tweak a training plan they may have found online to match their needs. It wasn’t until a patient pushed me to coach officially, that I decided to get formal training as a  running and triathlon coach.

After searching through the various courses available I chose the IRONMAN University certification for many reasons. I liked the format of the course and that the presenters and instructors had a great reputation. And let’s face it, the IRONMAN name is well known and easily recognizable.

I am excited to announce that I am now an IRONMAN University Certified coach, and that Feldman Physical Therapy and Performance has added running and triathlon coaching to the practice’s already unique list of services. What makes our coaching different is that it features an in-person Functional Movement Screen prior to the start of training to help identify any possible issues that may arise when training begins. We then develop a preventative plan before those concerns become an issue, while placing a large focus on the strength and conditioning side of the training plan. This is an often overlooked area of running and triathlon training plans, and one of great importance for injury prevention and performance enhancement. In addition, we also offer packages that include one visit per month in the clinic to sit and talk in person about the training plan, review the strength and conditioning and adjust  things as needed.
