IAN SHULTIS, PT, DPT

Hi, I’m Ian!

Welcome to my bio at Feldman Physical Therapy! I’m glad you’re taking the time to read these to learn a little bit about us and what makes our team us.

Here’s a little bit about me:

I mostly work in Physical Therapy due to the fact that it requires very little sitting still.

I grew up in Lagrange with my brothers, (4 extra of them) I competed in Fencing growing up as well as took up running at local Mid-Hudson Road runners road races which then transitioned to wilder places on the trails and mountains. We cared for animals at home as well as, spent some time working at the local dairy farm growing up. As a product of a fairly active upbringing, I enjoyed studying human exercise, and training starting out in school. Realizing later I wasn’t going to be a professional athlete (darn) I decided I could at least have a job around sports and athletics to postpone an adult reality for as long as possible.

I found through working in athletics after college that I was more interested in the one-on-one care required to get someone back from an injury, and thus applied into a PT Program for Grad school. This is where I first met Justin as I started observation hours and he was right down the road from our house in Lagrange!

Later on I was able to complete the tour with John in Fishkill as a clinical site, which was great because John had this really nice coffee machine that definitely helped keep me awake (long days in PT school, not necessarily John being boring). I am very excited to be a part of the team here at Feldman. We get to practice and play everyday with the true matter of why we all started into Physical Therapy and I think you will find that evident when you start with any of us.

Practicing at a clinic where we get to see patients one on one has always been a professional goal of mine, I think you will find it refreshing to work with any of us where we get to sit down, chat, take the time to get to know you and truly understand the problem before setting off.

Aside from being in the clinic, I spend as much time as possible outside between trail running up and down things, rock climbing up and down things, mountain biking up and over things, and cross country skiing in the winter. I remain active in the Athletics setting locally working as an Athletic Trainer/physical therapist to local colleges and high schools, even helping John out with Kingston Stockade Soccer, as well as throughout the year traveling to events with Team USA Fencing as well as Track and Field. I’m usually trying to bake something every now and then and tips are appreciated! Working together I’d like to hear from you what excites you in your day-to-day life, whether it’s a trip, some tasty food on the menu, or family plans ahead!
