HEAD, VESTIBULAR & CONCUSSION INJURIES

Vestibular dysfunction is actually more common than most realize. Tens of millions of people experience it at some point in their lives.  There are many causes including, inner ear imbalances, neck issues, medication side effects or head injuries. It is common for vestibular function to go undiagnosed which can lead to physical and emotional consequences due to the change in quality of life. Symptoms such as dizziness, blurry vision, imbalance, headaches, and vertigo can frequently cause you to become less active to avoid symptoms.  Inactivity can lead to tight muscles, loss of mobility and decreased strength. Physical Therapy aims to reduce these symptoms and restore function to your daily activities.

No matter the cause of your vestibular symptoms, don’t wait until it becomes unbearable. Contact Feldman Physical Therapy and Performance as early as possible to get relief!  A full evaluation by our Doctors of Physical Therapy can determine if additional tests are needed and get a jump start on the best plan to begin recovery.

Many times, Vestibular Physical Therapy is the only necessary treatment. However, if surgery is required, we will help with the prehab and rehab too! There is no set timeline for recovery but, working with a Physical Therapist can certainly help speed it up. At Feldman Physical Therapy and Performance, you will experience one on one treatment with a Doctor of Physical Therapy to create a personalized plan that gets you meeting and even exceeding your goals with fewer visits. The immediate goals are to reduce your symptoms and improve function.  We will also teach you self-management techniques to continue after rehabilitation.
